U.S. Election: A Canadian's view

"... Ignore the rest of the issue for a moment because they are obscuring the big issue … the real goal of Obama is Socialism, it doesn’t work and it bankrupts the Government and it morally bankrupts the people, your country has morally stood up the defeated and the dismayed, you have fortified freedom for millions if not billions. You feed, clothe and comfort the destitute of the world and rush in to sort out disasters no matter where they happen. You are good and generous and you are the vanguard of freedom in the world, you are industrious, well trained and disciplined …Please vote and make your mark on history and America swerves with a new encounter with Socialism … "

The economic, strategic, political, and international challenges to be confronted by the 44th president are vast - from the global financial crises to mullahs wanting nuclear power and weaponry, this election the most exciting since ’60, and most important since ’80, is of paramount importance. The issues aside, Todd Reinhardt provides us with a highly intelligible Canadian perspective on the implications of an Obama victory. This and many other warnings are out there, pity too few are listening … either way my hopes and prayers are with the next leader …

America is indeed special, but they are not special enough to make socialism work. That's not something to be ashamed of though, socialism is designed to bring failure and misery, nothing else.

I felt Todd Reinhardt's message about Socialism not working was great but I still can't bring myself to vote for Obama or McCain. www.baldwin08.com .

He's exactly right about socialism, of which Obama is the epitome. Socialism has always crept in by stealth disguised as something it never was and cloaked in respectability and compassion. Reinhardt sees America for the unique entity it is but how many Americans have been swayed by the Marxist drumbeat that has already hypnotized the E.U.S.S.R.?
Great quote above, Otto. I'm linking to you.

Otto,

I have other reasons to worry about an Obama administration, but I can't see his agenda as socialist. He is a liberal, yes. He does want to raise taxes on high earners, yes. He did say to Joe the Plumber he "wants to spread the wealth around." But I can't quite grasp how that is socialist. I mean John McCain argued to keep the tax rates at higher levels when Bush proposed to lower them. That doesn't make McCain a socialist. I understand there is more to this argument, but I guess I see Obama as more just a plain old fashion liberal.

Unfortunately, economic fear and uncertainty is going to sweep Obama into office. With the White House and the Congress in Democratic hands we could be in for a very Liberal 4 years.

Otto, He is so on target. Unfortunately, most Americans have not seen nor experienced Socialism/Marxism up front, so they have nothing to judge it by....they read and think, Wow,,thats great everything is supplied and no one wants for things...Medical,,,food,,,,whatever it's supplied....by whom dummies.........stay well.....Excellent post,,,,,,

Eeek! How creepy! Have you ever seen the film Hotel Rwanda? This sounds just like their extremist radio shows which enforced fear and prejudice among the locals.

Just for the record - this isn't EVERY canadian's opinion. Thanks Todd, from Canada.

I wonder how long it will take the first time voters that voted Socialism in to figure out that it wasn't the change that they wanted?
